Amar Chitra Katha Sardar Patel

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel single-handedly united India into one geographical whole for the first time in her entire existence and left a legacy that is invaluable. Yet, he is a man who history has not given his due. Vallabhbhai was one of the stalwarts of the freedom struggle who believed strongly in Gandhi's call for 'satyagraha' - the non-violent route to independence. Gentle at heart and generous to a fault, he also exhibited an iron fist whenever he saw his beloved country being threatened. The people loved him for his leadership and his compassion. They affectionately called him 'Sardar'. Pandit Nehru described him as "a great builder, unifier and consolidator of new India". His is a story that needs to be told.
