About the Author
Shefali Gokarn is a Research Engineer in artificial intelligence (AI) with a strong background in Computer Vision, NLP, and Deep Learning. She is a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Michigan (Dearborn, MI, USA) and a Master of Technology in Artificial Intelligence from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai. She holds two patents: 'A multifunctional wheelchair with stair climbing mechanism" and "Wheelchair apparatus transformable into a stretcher'. Shefali has been researching Leveraged OpenPose and Google Colab to develop and optimize a deep learning model for 3D human pose estimation using 2D pose data on the Linux platform. She implemented and fine-tuned various neural network architectures. She worked on machine learning and data science techniques to optimize casting efficiency and minimize issues for the Gems and Jewellery Industry. She implemented an AI-based video surveillance system using computer vision techniques and built innovative new products by combining IoT devices with AI. She aims to teach children and teenagers about AI and robotics applications
